I would like to thank the editors of the Santa Clara Weekly and Silicon Valley Voice for being a consistent supporter of Armed Forces non-profit groups in the City of Santa Clara, the recent highlight of Operation Care & Comfort and the tremendous work they do all year long. In a time when most people just post sentiments of gratitude on social media, OCC and their volunteers are in the community doing real work to hand deliver a morale boost for troops stationed around the country, guarding posts in foreign lands, and deployed in harm’s way.
Annually the Marine Corps League gathers in December for breakfast and to collect toys benefitting the Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys for Tots program. Any member of the community can also donate new, unwrapped toys for children of all ages simply by dropping them off at the American Legion Post #419 located at 958 Homestead Road, Santa Clara.
