I read the recent article about the plan to bring students back to campus. As a parent of two elementary school students, I have a few thoughts before the school board meeting on October 8th.
There seems to be some disconnect in communication between the district and parents. We haven’t been surveyed on our potential choices for returning in November. If they don’t have updated information from us, how will they put together a projected plan for return?
I would like the following topics to be addressed and thoroughly covered at the upcoming meeting:
An outline of the safety plan for students interested in returning to campus.
An updated hybrid schedule. How many days a week, and for how many hours will our students be on campus?
An actual proposed start date for students in November.
A strong, concrete plan to support teachers as they prepare to return to classrooms.
