The breaking news that “The San Francisco Zoo Will Receive a Pair of Pandas from China” brings me mixed feelings. First, I am proud because pandas, like me, are from China. Pandas are very rare and only found in China. Apart from China, the only countries where people can see pandas are those that have rented them. Second, I am happy due to the continuation of the famed “panda diplomacy.” Sending pandas to the U.S. is a sign of continuing friendly relations between China and the U.S. Third, I am slightly concerned. What if the pandas are not well taken care of like the one at the Memphis Zoo? Naturally, I hope this concern is unnecessary. In short, despite my slight concern, I hope the pandas arrive at the San Francisco Zoo as scheduled, be well taken care of, and maintain a friendly relationship between China and the U.S.
