Ever since the official kickoff of the Beijing Paralympics, it has attracted much of the world’s attention to those Olympians and those who are not. While we applaud the extraordinary performances of the athletes, this competition also brings our attention to the physically challenged community.
Unlike those Olympians, many people with disabilities do not get much attention in our society. For example, many countries in the world do not make special accommodations to people with special physical conditions.
Not everyone in that unique community is an athlete, but they all deserve the same attention and care. We, as other members of society, should continue to help those in need so we can create a more inclusive place for everyone.
