Measure M
I have lived in Santa Clara for 14 years and believe it is a good place to raise a family. I was dismayed to learn about Measure M. The city should not try to solve its financial problems by inviting in the Marijuana industry. There are many other ways to increase revenue or cut spending. Measure M would do more harm than good.
Teen use has increased dramatically in other communities that have allowed the sale of Marijuana. Unfortunately, 1 in 6 teens who try marijuana will become addicted. The City Council should talk to high schools to understand the impacts that these businesses would bring. Our city should not attempt to profit from the exploitation of our youth. We have no need for Marijuana money in our city. I will be voting No on Measure M.
