A member of the Red Guard observed that the purpose of the Cultural Revolution was to heap chaos onto chaos. Sadly, though Teresa O’Neill thinks registered lobbyists care about Aquinas, the philosophy of the 20th Century was Checkpoint Charlie, and chaos onto chaos is the philosophy of the 21st. The session regarding the Convention Center had all the earmarks of a Cultural Revolution march with the Convention Center staff being marched down Tasman with dunce caps and confessional signs. Indeed, if Ric Young was still around, he could play Jude Barry in the movie as the Interogator. What everyone forgets is that once the scapegoat is gone, there seldom will be new ones. History’s judgment is always the same.
