To the editor: I am writing in support of Teresa O’Neill’s re-election campaign for Santa Clara City Council. O’Neill is one of the most active and accessible elected officials I have ever known, and she is deeply committed to the people of Santa Clara. Our parks, bike paths, and recreation activities are top-notch thanks to her, she’s a strong advocate for public transit and affordable housing, and she meets regularly with her constituents. If you contact her with a problem, she gets back to you to try to find a solution. Further, she is one of the few politicians with the guts to stand up to the 49ers: they’ve been bad neighbors and there’s a reason why Jed York wants O’Neill out: she won’t let the niners get away with their tricks, she can’t be bought, and at the end of the day, she’s committed to the people.
