Once again the property owners are being asked for more money.
In 2009 a $138.00 parcel tax was passed to help cover budget short falls. Three years later the schools through Measure A want another $84.00 parcel tax which overlaps the one from 09 for the same reasons, budget short falls.
The school superintendent says the continued budget short falls are not due to mismanagement. If not mismanagement than what is it? Where did the millions that the district has already received since 2009 go?
Its obvious that over the last three years no long term plan was put into place to deal with the deficit problem. If a serious plan were put in place and managed correctly budget deficits would be a thing of the past.
More money is not the solution. The solution to this problem is simple, competent leadership that will make the tough decisions.
