My years of life experience have taught me that there are many ways to send a message. I received a message in the mail that has all the appearances of subtle racism. The picture on this week’s negative election “hit piece” sent around Santa Clara is absolutely a current unfortunate example of what subtle racism and bigotry is in action.
This Gillmor/SC POA political mailer is an insult to multiple ethnic groups in Santa Clara and to our citizens in general. Mayor Lisa Gillmor and the Santa Clara Police Officers Association Political Action Committee owe the Santa Clara Community an apology for their extremely poor judgment.
Additionally, I know that the larger element of the men and women who are the Santa Clara Police Department do not agree with the subtle racist background message that is very present.
