I was in attendance at the City Council meeting where several of the candidates mentioned how Santa Clara was their choice in which to reside because it was a great city in many respects. That evening some of the members of the City Council seemed to lack some of that greatness.
After receiving some legal advice from the city attorney, one still could not distinguish between what is legally correct and the moral and ethical imperative in the situation that presented itself.
Another seemed to think that Santa Clarans are so naive that just because you are some distance from the events at hand you are relegated to complete ignorance of any important or relevant information about upcoming decisions that will affect an entire city’s future direction.
Santa Clara deserves better!
