On December 9, the City Attorney objected to a request by Council Member Chahal to place a matter involving pending litigation on a closed session agenda though Chahal used the proper form to do so.
Also, the City Attorney wrongly led a discussion concerning the proposed litigation in open session wrongly accusing Chahal of accepting a 3 million contribution.
This was all improper under Brown guidelines. The correction should be to allow Chahal to request and honor it.
Also. The City Attorney has habitually advocated rather than advised regarding legal issues.
