Challenges in Online Learning – Letter to the Editor

My school has been in session for three weeks already. Classes, one after another, over Zoom, Google Meet, and Canvas Conference.

Although my teachers are trying their hardest to make things simplified for us, the numerous websites and platforms we keep track of adds to the complexity of online learning and an already heavy workload piled on our shoulders. Unclear instructions for the homework result in group chats spamming in texts while unstable wifi crashes again and again. A simple question that could once be solved by going to a teacher’s classroom requires back and forth emails, leading to countless misunderstandings and a world of confusion.

As a senior in high school, I hope that we are able to go back second semester to have a true academic experience before we graduate.
