#getfried at Santa Clara’s New Fry Cafe

At #getfried’s grand opening on March 5, owners Robert and Lynette Crum treated a constant line of fry-crazy customers during the lunch rush.

The Crums and their hard-working team were decked out in #getfried gear and served baskets and baskets of their fry creations.

“I look forward to introducing #getfried to California for the first time,” said Robert Crum. “With French fries being the number one consumer fast-food item in America, I am sure this concept will be a success for many years to come.”

#getfried is a fast-casual fry focused national chain, but this is their first location in California. And with their new location also came some regional topped fry basket recipes including the Avocado Express, The Greek, and The West Coast Offense.

Nai’a Fuller from Los Gatos decided on The West Coast Offense since she already tried some of their other options at #getfried’s New York location.

The West Coast Offense is only at the Santa Clara location and is a bed of your choice of fry with shredded chicken, avocado slices (very California), diced tomato, bacon bits, cheese sauce, red onion and cilantro. There is also a surprisingly delightful touch of honey mustard aioli. The fresh pieces of avocado and tomato make this fried dish taste refreshing.

“The reason I like, or remember, them is because everything they use is fresh,” said Fuller.

She came out thanks to Santa Clara Vice Mayor Kathy Watanabe’s social media posts. “She was posting and posting [about the grand opening],” laughed Fuller.

This #getfriend spot houses a few tables inside and a bright patio.

The Crums found a great location near by starving Mission College students, hungry Our Lady of Peace patrons, and, of course, ravenous Levi’s Stadium visitors.

This restaurant is so fry focused that even those looking for a lighter fare will be stunned—their salads also feature fries. Their Santa Clara Salad has your choice of fries, spring mix, avocado, tomato, onion, blue cheese and your choice of dressing. Like their tag line says, Live a Little.

The menu has seven original topped fry baskets and four regional options. Or customers can select one of six Dutch style fries—ranging from hand cut to sweet potato to curly—and then select one of 14 dipping sauces—options include basic ketchup to honey to basil pesto mayo.

#getfried also serves finger foods like Crispy Chicken Fingers and Waffle Fry Sliders. Finish your order with a milk shake in chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, peach or chocolate peanut butter or self-service beer and wine (coming soon).

When asked what his favorite item on the menu was Robert Crum said he enjoys the Oh’ Canada poutine fries.

#getfried is located at 4300 Great America Parkway Ste 100, Santa Clara. For more information about #getfried, visit www.getfried.com or call 210-857-7077.
