Fashion Show Benefits Art Foundation

Nineteen of Santana Row’s finest retailers and showcased spring fashions at the shopping center’s fifth annual fashion show event on June 1.

This year, in addition to showing guests the hottest trends hitting the stores, Santana Row partnered with the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts. Davis, a tight end for the NFC Champion San Francisco 49ers, owns Gallery 85 at the luxury shopping location and is a fan of fashion, making the partnership a perfect pairing.

“Vernon Davis opened Gallery 85 here at Santana Row and I learned about his wonderful foundation, Vernon Davis Foundation of the Arts that benefits underprivileged youth,” said Santana Row’s Marketing Director Collette Navarrette. “I then thought what a fabulous partnership we could have together with the fashion shows and give back to an amazing charity.”

For $40, guests were given access to a beauty lounge featuring the spas of Santana Row, “passion for fashion” discounts at retailers on the day of the event, hors d’oeuvres from Straits and Sino Restaurants, exclusive after parties (guests who attended all 10 were entered into a drawing for a $500 gift card), the runway show, and cocktails, although many people opted for water due to the 90 degree weather.

From workout wear to work attire and strappy shoes to sundresses, each of the participating retailers showed the 440 fashionistas and 49ers fans in attendance what they had to offer for summer.

“We put on this event to showcase the Santana Row retailers, restaurants and spas; as well as to raise money for a good cause,” said Navarrette. “Santana Row is all about fashion, fun and the community and the shows highlight just that.”

At the end of the show, Davis made an appearance and walked the runway wearing an outfit designed by Franco Uomo and shoes from Cole Haan.

The event raised just over $5,000 for Davis’ foundation. For more information on Santana Row visit www.santanarow.com and to learn about the Vernon Davis Foundation for the Arts visit www.vernondavisfoundation.org.
