Our beloved Aunt Edie, 95, passed peacefully after a short illness. Born in New York to Frank and Maria Bambino, she was a telecommunications operator for Westinghouse for 32 years where she met her loving husband of 26 years, Anthony (Tony) Novak. Edithe enjoyed volunteer leadership positions in a number of community groups such as the Young Ladies Institute (YLI), Iron Man Museum and the Altar Society. She was an active member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Sunnyvale, where she often could be found decorating the altar with beautiful flowers. She lived in Sunnyvale for over 50 years before moving to Pacific Gardens Assisted Living community in Santa Clara. Preceded in death by her parents, her six siblings and her husband, Tony, she is survived by her nieces and nephews, Patricia (Scott), Barbara (Randy), Ronald (Jean) and Michael, her godchildren Paula and Jonathan, and many great and great, great nieces and nephews. Viewing will be at Lima Family Santa Clara Mortuary, Sunday, September 30, 5pm – 8pm with a rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass, Monday, October 1, 11am at St Martin’s, Sunnyvale.
