Big buckles, cowboy hats and blue jeans were never more abundant in Santa Clara, as over 600 people turned out for the grand opening of Country Axis on March 21. Hosted by 95.3 KRTY (www.krty.com) DJ Randy Jones – with dance lessons by Adam the Dancing Cowboy (www.DancingCowboy.com), including the Watermelon Crawl – the new venue allows country music aficionados and line dancers a new spot to step back into the days of the Horseshoe Club.
Located at 2909 Lakeside Drive (formerly the Peppermill Restaurant), the country/dance club is open Thursday evenings from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Dance lessons begin at 7:30 p.m. Cover charges are $5 for 21+ and $10 for 18+.
