On Thursday, Jan. 18, the Santa Clara Police Department held its Coffee With a Cop event at Starbucks (2221 Alameda) in Santa Clara. The purpose of Coffee With a Cop is to help bring police officers and members of the community together to discuss issues and learn more about each other, over a convivial of coffee. During the 90-minute event, several members of the Santa Clara Police Department were available to talk with community members. The event takes the pressure off of meeting a police officer on the street or, perhaps, while behind the wheel of one’s car. The friendly environment offers a stress-free way to get to know police officers. Here Sergeant Tyson Shearer (left) talks with the Chief Operating Officer for the City of Santa Clara Walter Rossmann.
