Thousands of Santa Clarans go above and beyond by volunteering with a school, service club or other nonprofit organization. To encourage and streamline additional engagement, the City has created the new Community Volunteer Opportunities website, found at www.santaclaraca.gov/communityvolunteer.

Visitors to the Community Volunteer Opportunities website will find a growing list of 68 local service organizations that support a wide variety of causes. There are many opportunities, and residents can find one that best fits their interests, such as youth activities, senior aide, animal care, civil rights, environmental stewardship and others.

“Volunteering with your neighbors for a common goal is hugely important for our community,” said Mayor Jamie Matthews. “It not only meets a need for service, but also builds friendships and a shared sense of purpose.”

Residents interested in learning more about volunteering for a local community group should visit www.santaclaraca.gov/communityvolunteer. Also, if a service organization that is not identified on the website would like to be included, please contact the City Clerk’s Office to be added to the list.

Finally, for those without Internet access, a list can be obtained by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at 408-615-2220 or clerk@santaclaraca.gov.
