Caserta Campaign for Third City Council Term Off to an Early Start

Dominic Caserta kicked off his campaign for City Council on May 29 with an event at Fiorillo’s Restaurant. Caserta, who served two terms on the Council from 2002-2010, is running for Seat 5, which is being vacated by the retirement of Council Member and former Mayor Patricia Mahan after 20 years of service.

Caserta is a 17-year veteran teacher at Santa Clara High School, and is endorsed by a long list of former and current state, county, city, Santa Clara Unified school district, and West Valley Mission College officials; as well as City of Santa Clara AFSCME, Santa Clara Employees Association, the Santa Clara Police Officers Association, the California Nurses Association (CNA) and Teamsters, Local 287. As an Old Quad resident, he also has the endorsement of six of the seven members of the Historical & Landmarks Commission.

“Dominic’s record of public service and his ability to get things done are why Dominic must return to City Hall,” said Council Member Patrick Kolstad.

“I’m a tireless campaigner,” said Caserta. “Our campaign will have an extensive grass roots and interactive component where I hope to talk with every single voter in Santa Clara prior to the election – either on the phone, at their home, online and in public settings. With the overwhelming support we have received thus far we will concentrate on reaching out to every single voter in Santa Clara.”
