We’re down to the wire. The deadline for candidates for the November election is today at 5 p.m. — However, if District 3 incumbent Pat Kolstad doesn’t file, the deadline for that district is Aug. 15.
Here’s the line-up as of press time:
The contest for Mayor will be battled by appointed incumbent Lisa M. Gillmor, Anthony J. Becker and Kevin N. Park.
Vying for City Clerk is Peta Roberts, Thomas MacDevitt, Robert J. O’Keefe, Hosam Haggag, Roseann Alderete LaCoursiere and Christopher R. Stampolis — it’s a partial 2-year term.
Hopefuls wishing to represent District 2 are Nancy A. Biagini, Mario Bouza and Raj Chahal.
In District 3 the candidates are Karen Hardy and Ashish Mangla.
It is worth noting that some of these candidates have not yet filed their final papers. For more information and updates visit: http://santaclaraca.gov/government/departments/city-clerk-auditor/election-information

I'm not sure Hosam Haggag has the temperance necessary to be City Clerk. Perhaps he is just trying to get some name recognition and put his political campaign structure in place for a city council seat run in 2020.
