Candidates File to Run in Santa Clara’s First By-District Elections

It’s getting down to the wire for candidates to file run in November’s election. The deadline is Friday, Aug. 10, with the exception of District 3, which will have an extended deadline to Aug. 15 if incumbent Pat Kolstad doesn’t file to run.

Here’s the line-up:

The sole filer for City Clerk is Thomas McDevitt.

Three candidates have filed for District 3: Nancy Biagini, Mario Bouza and Raj Chahal.

In District 2 only Karen Hardy has filed so far.

Two candidates have filed to run for Mayor: Anthony Becker and Lisa Gillmor.

Hosam Haggag, Robert O’Keefe and Peta Roberts have pulled papers to run for City Clerk but have yet to file them, while Loretta Beavers and Keith Stattenfield have withdrawn from the District 3 race.

For more information about filing nomination papers to run for City office, contact the Santa Clara City Clerk’s Office by phone at (408) 615-2220 or visit the office in person, 1500 Warburton Ave., Santa Clara, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Correction: A previous version of this article mistakenly listed Biagini, Bouza and Chahal has District 2 candidates.
