Black Cedar Performs in Santa Clara

Santa Clara’s Studio Bongiorno often brings varied sounds to its floor space. In the past, the studio-gallery has hosted acoustic ska and metal shows, as well as singer-songwriters and unique instrumental bands, but on Aug. 8 the space played host to a modern classical group Black Cedar.

According to guitarist Steve Lin, the trio, which played at Santa Clara’s Studio Bongiorno on Aug. 8, is the “only trio in the world dedicated to promoting and commission music written for flute, guitar and cello.”

“It was refreshing to host music with a much more classical vibe to it,” said Studio Bongiorno owner Phil Bongiorno. “Based on the age and the acoustics of the building, the sound quality was amazing. We look forward to having them back soon and encourage everyone that couldn’t make it to come on out next time.”
