A month after breaking ground on the new Santa Clara stadium, the San Francisco 49ers are keeping the momentum going this month as the team nears its first construction milestone: placing over 3,000 “cast-in-place” piles for the structure’s foundation. The state-of-the art technique – auger pressure grouted displacement – keeps noise and vibration low; reduces waste, pollution and work area footprint; and increases safety and structural reliability.
The Santa Clara stadium is one of several major construction projects that have local officials predicting a dramatic turnaround in the Bay Area construction trade unemployment rates this year, according to a recent CBS San Francisco report. There are currently 250 workers on the construction site.
