Tens of thousands of people flocked to Santa Clara’s Central Park on Sept. 16 & 17 for the annual Art & Wine Festival. The community event featured dozens of local artists and performers.
The City hosted two stages. On the main stage in the pavilion, artists like Stealin’ Chicago, a Steely Dan & Chicago tribute band, performed for crowds who danced on a makeshift dance floor in front of the stage.
In another part of the park, organizers created a special zone just for kids. The Edgecore Digital Infrastructure Kids Kingdom had its own festival within a festival. Kids were treated to performances from local high school groups such as Santa Clara High School Cheer and the Wilcox High School Dance Team.
Other performances included the Roberta Jones Junior Theater and a demonstration by Kodenkan Jujitsu.
The Kids Kingdom also included booths from local junior artists like Santa Clara author Aarna Agrawal, as well as carnival games with prizes.
Local nonprofits served up food to keep guests happy and raise funds at the same time. Boy Scout Troop #74 filled grills with Italian sausages, while the Wilcox High School Robotics team fried up funnel cakes. The Buchser Middle School Music Association stirred kettle corn and the Wilcox High School Dads, Grads & Moms kept people hydrated with soda and water.
The belle of the ball was the art and wine with wines from Guglielmo Winery, J. Lohr Estates and Wente among others. Proceeds from the two-day event benefit local charities including the Santa Clara Schools Foundation, Santa Clara Police Activities League (PAL) and Santa Clara Rotary’s Steps for Success.
The money is also used to help fund the grad nights for Santa Clara High School and Wilcox High School.
This was the 41st Annual Santa Clara Art & Wine Festival. It returned after a two-year hiatus due to COVID in 2022.
